To deliver an improved process for managing the various system extracts that produce the Monthly and Quarterly close process.
Solution
We had consultations on site at QBE Europe offices in London.
We took the existing monthly load from a system called CALM to the Oracle Warehouse named PRISM which took a significant 5-7 days to refresh.
The project upgraded the current infrastructure to Accenture production standard, developing the mappings within OWB and the metadata within the CALM database to produce a weekly report which amalgamated the monthly information.
Within the scope of work was to create a new development, UAT and Pre Prod environment for debugging, development and testing. Oracle AVDF (Audit Vault and Database Firewall) installation and configuration amongst databases (SOX compliance). The final part of the Project involved KT to the Accenture BAU team and a close off from the support from the original vendors who have already moved away from supporting the PRISM reporting system. We provided the technical lead for this project and were involved in the PID, SOW and project planning work.
The HLD and technical documentation was already completed as part of an attempt to start this project two years ago which was halted due to lack of technical resource. We managed the implementation of the new environments, were hands on with the installation and configuration of the repository databases, OWB workspaces and the cloning of these between environments. We engaged in the general database administration and the performance tuning of the ETL process. We also lead weekly project meetings and fed back project progress alongside the project manager to the QBE stakeholders.
