A data migration and etc program.
The Martime agency required a full migration of all their IT over to Microsoft Azure. Many of their financial and safety applications were running on a legacy infrastructure, using O’S and legacy Oracle middleware, e-business and database.
Solution
We undertook a full analysis of Martime agency’s existing systems to ascertain whether they could be patched to current levels. In order to safeguard data, we backed up and cloned methods available for the existing versions, carried out business analysis and gathered requirements. From this, we created a directive, adopting a solutions architect role to produce a proposal. Migration tests were carried out on clones of the live system to produce timings and estimates. We created a program and timeline to migrate to SGL Server in Azure where possible, or retaining the Oracle products where applications required this.
This was an interesting and challenging piece of work which was successfully delivered.
